Overview safety coupling
For checking purposes, the safety coupling
must be coupled and the stabiliser handle must
be pushed down until resistance can be felt

Safety Indicators
The safety coupling is equipped with safety indicators
for correct coupling of the ball and the friction linings /
ball wear (see pictures below).
Pict. 1 =
Connection indicator - Green marking is
visible:
• The caravan is correctly connected to the ball
Pict. 2 =
Wear indication for clutch / ball - Green
marking visible:
• Front and rear friction linings OK
• The coupling ball is OK
Green marking is no longer visible:
• Front and rear friction linings worn
Replace friction linings!
• Ø coupling ball < 49 mm
Replace coupling ball!
Pict. 3 =
Soft Dock - Arrow below the Soft Dock mark 1
- green:
• Left and right friction linings OK
Arrow above the Soft Dock mark 1 - red:
• Left and right friction linings worn
Replace friction linings!
Arrow on the Soft Dock mark – 2
• AKS is closed
The coupling handle on the safety coupling
must not be used for lifting etc. This can
cause damage to internal parts.

9. Make sure that the cable does not drag on the ground.
10. Wind up the support wheel and raise the support wheel
leg as far as possible. Lock the support wheel leg
securely in the raised position with the locking knob.

port wheel leg
11. Check that the air pressure in the tyres is correct (see
page 19).
12. Check that the air pressure in the towing car’s rear
tyres is 30 kPa (0.3 kp/cm
2
) higher than normal.
13. Check that all the road lights on the caravan are working.
14. Check that the car’s door mirrors are correctly adjusted.
The ball must be free of grease, dirt and paint
in order for the coupling to work properly.
∆
Don’t forget to wind up the support wheel and
lock it securely in place. Make sure that the sup-
port wheel is not pressing against the brake rod.
∆
Check that the caravan and the car are coup-
led together properly. The green mark of the
coupling indicator must be visible.
