4 - REARMING AND REPACKING INSTRUCTIONS
USE ONLY THE PLASTIMO DAN BUOY REARMING KIT
Read the instructions fully before attempting to rearm the Dan buoy. Then follow the instructions
carefully to ensure successful re-use.
4.1 - After recovery of the Dan buoy, wash over with clean fresh water, then allow all parts to air-dry
fully.
4.2 - Fully deflate the Dan buoy by means of the top up tube. Remove the black dust cap and place
upside down in the valve whilst pushing all air out of the Dan buoy, repeat until all air is removed.
4.3 - Detach the firing lever lanyard from the bracket holder.
4.4 - Unscrew the used 60g. cylinder at the base of the Dan buoy.
4.5 - Replace the firing lever in the inflator (diagram 7)
N.B. Do not screw the cylinder into the inflator until the firing lever has been replaced, as this will
cause the cylinder to fire.
4.6 – Check that the cylinder housing seal in the inflator is in good condition. Screw the new
CO2 cylinder on to the inflator by hand.
4.7 – If the light is replaced, unclip the light from its holder on the top of the Dan buoy and
replace it with the light provided in the recharging kit
5 – FOLDING
5.1 - Follow the folding and packing diagrams on pages 18 and 19.
5.2 - Check that the inflator is visible and that the firing lanyard is free (14).
5.3 - Close the container cover (15-A) The cover must stay in place without opening. Attach the lanyard
to the holder (15-B).
ENSURE THE KNOT IS SECURE AND WILL NOT SLIP WHEN THE CANISTER IS THROWN
OVERBOARD.
5.4 - Coil the 2m lanyard in the bottom of the holder (16-A) and reinstall the canister on the holder (16-
B). Replace the canister securing elastic (16-C). Check that the firing lanyard is not visible. The
Dan buoy is ready for re-use.
