3. The installation of the print server is now complete.
4. To print any data, use “lp” or “lpr” command. Enter the printer name that
has been assigned in Step 2-c in this section.

The print server supports each UNIX OS and Linux distribution. This
section will provide an installation procedure for SCO UNIX, SUN Solaris
and Linux. To enable the print server under other UNIX OSes, please refer
to the section on configuring a remote printer in the user’s manual of each
UNIX OS.

SCO UNIX (OpenServer 5.0.x)
1. Log on to the system with root permission.
2. Enter and run the following command.
mkdev rlp
The system will display a series of questions about the configuration of your
remote printer. Answer to each question in the following manner:
a. Do you want to install or remove printing (i/r/q)? [q]:
-> Enter “i”.
b. Do you wish to change the printer description file /etc/printcap (y/n)? [n]
-> Enter “y”.
c. Enter information for remote printers or local printers accepting remote
printing requests. Please enter the printer name (q to quit)
-> Enter a desired printer name that identifies the printer.
(Example: mini2)
d. Is xxxx a remote printer or a local printer (r/l)
-> Enter “r”.
