Chapter 2 Basic Setup & Configuration

PPTP

Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP), a protocol that allows

corporations to extend their own corporate network through private

"tunnels" over the public Internet. Effectively, a corporation uses a wide-

area network as a single large local area network. A company no longer

needs to lease its own lines for wide-area communication but can securely

use the public networks. This kind of interconnection is known as a virtual

private network (VPN)

WAN IP Address

Please choose the service provided by your ISP.

IP Address

Enter the IP address provided by your ISP.

Subnet Mask

Enter the Subnet Mask address provided by your ISP.

GateWay

Enter the default Gateway address provided by your ISP.

DNS 1~3

ĈΞ

You may enter the first, second, and third DNS Server

provided by your ISP.

Server IP/Name

Please enter the VPN Server IP and its Name.

PPTP Account

Please enter your PPTP Account number.
