8.    Put a bushing in the third hole

from the narrow end of each

Part B. Insert the axle into the

40-tooth gear. Add a spacer

on the end. Insert the axle into

the bushing on the Part B that

would put the gear on the

left side of the car when the

narrow end is the front and the

1-1/4" screw is on top. Place

another spacer on the end of

the axle and gently push the

20-tooth gear on the end. This is the motor mount.

9.   The 10-tooth gear is the pinion gear; place it on the motor post so the post is flush with the side of the gear.

Caution: If you push the motor on the gear too hard, the motor housing could come out.

Adding the Wheels

1.   Gather Parts E and F and all the #2 x 3/8" screws. If the wheel

hubs are in a font, remove them. From the gear font, remove

the 50-tooth gear with a large axle hole. Use a hobby knife or

sandpaper to remove any burrs.

2.   Using a small screwdriver, attach the hubs to the wheels with

the screw heads on the side of the acrylic wheel. If the car

will need extra traction, stretch a wide rubber band over the

back wheels (Parts E).

3.   Insert the 2-1/2" axle into one of the hubs attached to a front

wheel (Part F). Tip: If the axles are loose on the hubs, insert a

piece of string through the hub.

4.   Find four axle bushings and four spacers and the 2-3/4" axle.

Insert the bushings into the front and back holes on the

chassis.

5.   Place a spacer on the 2-1/2" wheel-and-axle assembly and

insert it through the front end of the chassis; the front is the

end closer to the middle holes on Parts A.

6.   Place another spacer

on the end of the axle.

Press the second front

wheel onto the axle.

7.   Push the gear on the

end of the longer axle

so 1/2" comes out one

side of the gear.
