Connecting other audio components
This r eceive r has both digital and analog inputs, allowing you to connect audio components fo r playback.
When you set up the r eceive r you’ll need to tell the r eceive r which input you connected the component to (see also The
Input Setup menu on page 45).
• If you’ r e connecting a r eco r de r , connect the analog
audio outputs to the analog audio inputs on the
r eco r de r .
• You can’t hea r HDMI audio th r ough this r eceive r ’s
digital out jack.
Turntables only:
• If you r tu r ntable has a g r ounding wi r e, secu r e it to the
g r ound te r minal on this r eceive r .
• If you r tu r ntable has line-level outputs (i.e., it has a
built-in phono p r e-amp), connect it to the
CD
inputs
instead.
About the WMA9 Pro decoder
This unit has an on-boa r d Windows Media™ Audio 9
P r ofessional

(WMA9 P r o) decode r , so it is possible to
playback WMA9 P r o-encoded audio using HDMI, coaxial
o r optical digital connection when connected to a WMA9
P r o-compatible playe r . Howeve r , the connected DVD
playe r , set-top box, etc. must be able to output WMA9 P r o
fo r mat audio signals th r ough a coaxial o r optical digital
output.
