Incorrect operations are often mistaken for trouble and malfunctions. If you think that there is something wrong with this component,
check the points below. Sometimes the trouble may lie in another component. Investigate the other components and electrical appli-
ances being used. If the trouble cannot be rectified even after exercising the checks listed below, ask your nearest PIONEER authorized
service center or your dealer to carry out repair work.

Cause

• Power plug is disconnected from inlet and outlet.
• The amplifier's power plug has been plugged into

TROUBLESHOOTING

Symptom

No power supplied to unit.

No sound.

No sound from one speaker.

Cannot record tapes.

Cannot perform tape copying.

The remote control unit does not
work. (Other components cannot
be operated.)

Volume indicator does not light.

Abnormal functioning of this unit may be caused by, static electricity, or other external interference. To restore normal operation, turn the
power off and then on again, or unplug the AC power cord and then plug it in again.

NOTE:

The protection function will operate in case of internal amplifier malfunction or in case of external causes such as static electricity or
speaker terminal short circuits. When the protection function operates, all of the input source indicators flash, and the unit goes out into
standby mode.
If this occurs, check the speaker terminals and speaker cords to make sure they are not shorted, then press the POWER switch to turn on
the unit.
If the protection function then operates again, unplug the power cord and contact a service center.
