10. Emergency Egress
The Emergency Egress feature provides a simple and convenient means of exiting a Roll Seal RS- 500
Door from the inside of the structure should the door motor become inoperative due to a power failure or
other conditions.
INSTALLATION
Install the two Strap Retainers (1040-8400) to the inside of the top door jam and the left door jam as shown
below. For a wood framed door jams use two #10x1
″
screws (1004-1386). For a metal framed door jam
use two #8x1/2 Tek screws (1004-2492).
EXITING (OPENING) THE DOOR
When exiting the door, first pull the Emergency Strap from the retainers on the side of the door. See Step 1
below. Next pull down on the strap until the door stops. See Step 2. This will allow the doors to open
enough for a person to exit the structure.
