6.3 Maintenance and inspection
CAUTION!
Before cleaning the exterior casing of the voltage amplifier, turn off the power switch and
unplug the power plug. Failure to do so may result in a fire or electrical shock.
Clean the exterior casing using a damp cloth that has been firmly wrung out. Do not use
alcohols, benzene, paint thinner or other flammable substances. If flammable substances
come into contact with an electrical component inside the voltage amplifier, this may result in a
fire or electrical shock.
6.4 Environmental conditions
The amplifier can be used:
indoors only
at an altitude of up to 2000
m
at a temperature between: 5
and 35 °C
at a relative humidity between: 5
and 95 % (non-condensing)
The recommended environmental conditions:
indoors only
at an altitude of up to 2000
m
at a temperature between: 20
and 22 °C
at a relative humidity between: 5
and 80 % (non-condensing)

Handling
“Modulation input MOD”
The output voltage can be remotely controlled using this input. The control signal must range
between 0 and
+10 V. The amplification factor of the input signal is 100. An input signal of 1 V will
be transformed in an output signal of 100 V. The voltage set with the “offset” encoder is added to
the output voltage set by the Modulation input.
“Monitor output MON”
At this socket the voltage signal can be monitored by using for instance an oscilloscope. The
amplification factor of the monitor signal is 1/100, the output signal ranges from 0 to +
10 V. In
particular for commissioning and the setting of process parameters it is recommended to use the
monitor output.
“Offset”
With the potentiometer
“Offset”
a voltage signal can be generated. With the potentiometer the
whole voltage range from 0 to +100
0 V can be adjusted by hand. The voltage is shown on the
LC-display. The
RCV 1000/3
can be driven as voltage source without an external waveform
generator.
If an external waveform generator is connected via the modulation input
“MOD”
with the
RCV 1000/3
the signal can be moved with the potentiometer. Adjustments at the waveform
generator are not necessary.
