System Fails Power-On Tests

Your system performs several tests when you power it on. These tests, called 
Rapid Power-On Tests (RPOT), check the hardware components and system 
software.

If these tests are successful, the message 

PictureTel Ready

 appears in the upper left 

corner of your monitor.

These are the steps you can take if your system fails the RPOT.

If you have this symptom...

Do this...

An error message occurs 
during the power-on process.

1. Make sure that all cables are securely 

connected to the electronics module.

2. Press ENTER to run more tests.

3. If the test results show a video, audio, or 

network problem, refer to the lists in this 
section or refer to the online manual to try 
to find out what the problem is.

If you still canÕt Þx the problem or the tests 
show a defective component, contact your 
PictureTel service provider. 

If the tests show that thereÕs a problem with 
the network, contact your network service 
provider.
