NOTICE 

 

Damage due to improper maintenance! 

The M-238 can become misaligned by incorrect maintenance. 

 

Loosen screws only according to the instructions in this manual or the instructions of our 

customer service department (p. 21). 

  

 

7.1

 

Lubricating the M-238 

Depending on the operating conditions and the period of use of the M-238, the following 

maintenance measures are required: 

Maintenance Run 

The maintenance run serves the purpose of distributing the existing lubricant. 

 

If the M-238 is moved continuously over a short travel range (<20 % of the entire travel 

range) in an industrial situation, do a run across the entire travel range approximately 

every 2000 motion cycles. 

Relubricating 

Under laboratory conditions, the positioner needs relubrication in exceptional cases only. For 

continuous industrial use, the lubrication intervals must be determined individually. 

 

If you have any questions on relubricating, contact our customer service department 

(p. 21). 

 

 

7.2

 

Cleaning the M-238 

Requirements 

 

You have disconnected the linear actuator from the controller. 

Cleaning the Linear Actuator  

 

Do 

not

 use any organic solvents. 

 

If necessary, clean the surfaces of the linear actuator using a cloth dampened with a 

mild cleanser or disinfectant.
