Phocos' Modular Central Unit (MCU) is a component of Phocos
Modular Power Management. MCU can be used to control all
modular power units including MPS and MPPT. MCU controls
and synchronizes all components of your PV system, collects
and stores system performance data and enables external
communication via  remote display, modem or PC.
MCU can be used in 12 V, 24 V or 48 V systems configured by
DIP switch settings. Customized voltage set points are possible
via PC software interface settings.
All connected RS485 interfaces will be supplied centrally (not
more than 150 mA).
MCU is the master controller of the Modular Power Management
RS485 bus structure. It also provides communication ability
via RS232 interface allowing MCU to be connected to Phocos
remote displays, modems or PCs.

MCU also provides a battery-supported, real-time clock.
MCU includes a bootloader function so that firmware can be
easily updated in the field.
Wide ranges of individual basic settings for voltage set-points
such as low-voltage disconnect (LVD), low-voltage reconnect
(LVR), high-voltage disconnect (HVD) and high-voltage reconnect
(HVR) for each installed power module.
Adjustable set-points for the charge cycles, target voltages
and length of cycles.
Choice of PWM or two-point series (bank switching) regulation.
Monitoring of each system device and generation of alarms
signals in case of system operation problems.
Sensibility checks when configuring the system. If system
settings are not sensible for your system as designed, a warning
occurs and the settings won't be stored and accepted into
the MCU memory.
