Your mobile phone integrates the infrared technology
(also called IrDA), that allows you to send or receive
data to and from other IrDA-compliant devices
through a wireless link (e.g., another mobile phone, a
PC or PDA, a printer etc.). Instead of sending a
message, you can decide to use IrDA to quickly send
a sound you just mixed to a friend’s mobile phone, or
to receive pictures from their PDA.
Files that are copyright-protected cannot be sent.
When connecting with a PC, make sure you have
activated its infrared option.
Before sending or receiving data to and from another
device, they must be correctly positioned in relation to
your mobile phone. Make sure that the respective
IrDA ports are facing each other and are a maximum
of 50 cm away from each other (see diagram). Also
make sure that nothing obstructs the IrDA beam.
Select an item
To send data via IrDA from your mobile phone, you
must first select the item to be sent: for each category,
a sub-menu then gives you access to the
Send
option;
