Adjustable keep-warm time and freshness indicator
You can adjust the time during which the appliance keeps the coffee warm on the hotplate to a
maximum of 2 hours. The default keep-warm time is 30 minutes.

Press and hold the clock button until the keep-warm time starts flashing on the display,
then release.

Press the + button or - button to adjust the keep-warm time. Every press of the button adds
10 minutes to the keep-warm time.
Tip: Press and hold the + or - button to fast forward the time.

Press the clock button to confirm.
Note: The appliance automatically saves the set keep-warm time after 12 seconds.
If you select a keep-warm time over 30 minutes, the freshness indicator will be activated after
30 minutes. The slowly flashing on/off button lets you know the freshness of your coffee is declining.
Freshness indicator
To switch off the freshness indicator, follow below steps.

Unplug the appliance.

Press and hold the on/off switch and put the plug back in the wall socket.

The display shows OFF.
To switch on the freshness indicator, follow below steps.

Unplug the appliance.

Press and hold the on/off switch and put the plug back in the wall socket.

The display shows ON.
Flushing the appliance before first use

Remove the water tank from the appliance (1) and remove the lid of the water tank
(2) (Fig. 6).

Fill the water tank with fresh, cold tap water (Fig. 7).

Put the lid on the water tank (1) and put the water tank back onto the appliance (2) (Fig. 8).
Do not put a filter and ground coffee in the filter holder.

Press the on/off switch downwards to switch on the appliance (Fig. 9).

Let the appliance operate until the water tank is empty.

Press the on/off button downwards to switch off the appliance (Fig. 10).

Clean the jug and the filter holder (see chapter ‘Cleaning’). (Fig. 11)

Let the appliance cool down for at least 3 minutes before you start brewing coffee.

The intensity switch lets you set the way the water flows through the coffee bed: a wide water
distribution setting gives a smooth, mild taste, while a concentrated distribution results in a strong
intense taste.

Make sure the plug is in an earthed wall socket.

Make sure the jug is under the filter holder.
