W arnings

1.G eneral

. All IC s and m any other sem iconductors are susceptible to

electrostatic discharges (ESD ). C areless handing during

repair can reduce life drastically. M ake sure that, during

repair, you are at the sam e potential as the m ass of the set

by a w ristband w ith resistance. Keep com ponents and tools

at this sam e potential. Available ESD protection equipm ent:

1) C om plete kit ESD 3 (sm all tablem at, w ristband,

connection box, extension cable and earth cable) 4822

. Be careful during m easurem ents in the live voltage section.

The prim ary side of the pow er supply , including the heat

sink, carries live m ains voltage w hen you connect the player

to the m ains (even w hen the player is “off”!). It is possible to

touch copper tracks and/or com ponents in this unshielded

prim ary area, w hen you service the player. Service

personnel m ust take precautions to prevent touching this

area or com ponents in this area. A “lighting stroke” and a

stripe-m arked printing on the printed w iring board, indicate

the prim ary side of the pow er supply.

. N ever replace m odules, or com ponents, w hile the unit is

“on”.

2. Laser

. The use of optical instrum ents w ith this product, w ill

increase eye hazard.

. O nly qualified service personnel m ay rem ove the cover or

attem pt to service this device, due to possible eye injury.

. R epair handing should take place as m uch as possible w ith

a disc loaded inside the player.
