Safety instructions

1. G eneral safety

Safety regulations require that during a repair:

. C onnect the unit to the m ains via an isolation transform er.

. R eplace safety com ponents indicated by the sym bol

only by com ponents identical to the original ones. Any other

com ponent substitution (other than original type) m ay

increase risk of fire or electrical shock hazard.

Safety regulations require that after a repair, you m ust return

the unit in its original condition. Pay, in particular, attention to

the follow ing points:

. R oute the w ires/cables correctly, and fix them w ith the

m ounted cable clam ps.

. C heck the insulation of the m ains lead for external

dam age.

. C heck the electrical D C resistance betw een the m ains plug

and the secondary side:

1) U nplug the m ains cord, and connect a w ire betw een

the tw o pins of the m ains plug.

2) Set the m ains sw itch the “on” position (keep the

m ains cord unplug).

3) M easure the resistance value betw een the m ains

plug and the front panel, controls, and chassis

bottom .

4) R epair or correct unit w hen the resistance

m easurem ent is less than 1M

5) Verify this, before you return the unit to the

custom er/user (ref. U L-standard no. 1492).

6) Sw itch the unit “off”, and rem ove the w ire betw een

the tw o pins of the m ains plug.

2.Laser safety

This unit em ploys a laser. O nly qualified service personnel

m ay rem ove the cover, or attem pt to service this device (due

to possible eye injury).
