Sound Setup menu
Auto Surround
Sometimes the broadcaster transmits special signals for Surround Sound
encoded programmes.
Dependent on your speaker configuration, the TV automatically switches to
the best surround sound mode when
Auto Surround
is switched
On
.
However it is possible to overwrite this setting.
Wireless Surround
To make use of the wireless surround loudspeakers, use the cursor left/right
to select the same channel as you selected on the active loudspeaker.
(In the factory, channel 1 has been selected as default.)
Under most circumstances an interference free sound reproduction will be
guaranteed.
To avoid interference from external RF (wireless) equipment such as
headphones, RF audio, remote controls for lights it may be necessary to shift
to another wireless channel number. Do not use a mobile telephone close to
the wireless equipment as interference might occur.
In practice only 3 or 4 channels are available because at least a gap of two
channels is necessary to have enough separation.
Always be sure that the active surround speaker and the Wireless Surround
setting are switched to the same transmitting channel. Otherwise no sound or
only a distorted sound will be heard on the surround speakers.
When the TV is tuned to a channel in the neighbourhood of 864 MHz
(433 MHz in case you purchased a TV with a typenumber in the range 28-
32PW9615/01 or /58 or 32PW9765/01 or /58), the transmitter is switched off
because no RF surround sound is possible. This is necessary to avoid interfered
picture. You can improve the picture quality by using the suppressor aerial cable
supplied.
When no RF surround sound is possible or when there is too much
interference, use the wired back up solution with a 3.5 mm stereo jack. In this
case select
Off
in the Wireless surround menu item.
Connect the cable with the
PRE-AMP IN (TV)
connector at the back of the
active surround loudspeaker and with the black and red
REAR R
or
L
inputs
at the back of the TV.
Wireless headphone
When selecting the menu item
Wireless surround
, also the menu item
Wireless headphone
is displayed.
It indicates the transmitting channel in case you want to operate a wireless
headphone. The transmitting channel is automatically selected dependent on
the transmitting channel chosen for Wireless surround.
Important:
Sets with the typenumber 28-32PW9615/01 and /58 and 32PW9765/01 and /58
will only operate with a wireless headphone for 433 MHz.
All other typenumbers will only operate with wireless headphones for 864 MHz.
