WARNING

Do not use a flammable gas to purge the instrument. The spectrometer
contains a hot source, and a fire or explosion will result. Only use
clean, dry, oil-free nitrogen or air to purge the instrument.

Purging the sample compartment
A length of clear plastic tubing (1/4 inch internal diameter, part number L1600245) is
provided to transfer the gas to the sample compartment purge connector.
To connect the sample compartment purge:
1. Disconnect from the instrument in your software, if applicable.
2. Disconnect the instrument from the mains power and then remove any cables
connected to the rear of the spectrometer.
3. Remove any sampling accessories installed in the sample compartment.
You will need to invert the instrument.
4. Carefully, turn the instrument over to display the underside, placing the instrument on a
soft surface.
5. Locate the sample compartment purge connector shown in Figure 84.
