The RamanStation 400 Series
The RamanStation 400 Series are bench-top spectrometers with laser excitation wavelength
at 785 nm. It has a sample compartment with high throughput capabilities. The
RamanStation 400F can be used with a fiber optic probe or a RamanMicro 300 Accessory.
Figure 9 The RamanStation 400 Series
The instrument (Figure 9) is composed of a laser, mirrors, filters, lenses, spectrograph and a
CCD detector. The laser supplies light through an objective lens onto the sample through the
sample compartment snout or through the fiber optic probe. The scattered light from the
sample is collected with the same objective lens and transmitted back to the spectrometer. A
detailed schematic of the optical configuration is provided in Figure 11.
