4. Transportation and Storage
4.1 Transportation
Our boom barriers are delivered in fully operational assembly groups:
1. Complete barrier stand (hand-operated boom barrier) and/or complete barrier
housing (electrically and electro-hydraulically operated boom barrier), each with
barrier-boom mount
2. Barrier boom (possibly with optional pendulum support installed, and/or optional
safety edge fitted)
3. Fixed support post (option)
in addition
4. Miscellaneous hardware for the installation (enclosed in the barrier-boom mount)
As a rule, these components will be delivered to the construction site by lorry.
The barrier stand or the barrier housing are secured onto a Euro pallet and sealed in plastic
foil.
A forklift is required for unloading.
Warning
Be sure to follow the Regulations for Accident Prevention (UVV), in particular, as
applicable to working with suspended loads.
For information on the weights to be moved, please refer to the technical data.
After unloading, the transport protection can be removed.
Attention
The electro-hydraulically operated barrier must not be transported or stored in a
lying position.
Note
The protective film on the stainless steel housing of the electrically and electro-
hydraulically operated barriers, should however not be removed until after all
installation work has been completed.
4.2 Storage
If you do not wish to install the barrier immediately, you may place it on any level surface. All
components are weatherproof and may therefore be safely stored outdoors.
