5.3.3
Gateway Power Supply
The gateway is supplied by the AS-I circuit. A connection to the AS-I lead occurs by
means of the EMS interface. When using the power units, it is important to ensure that
they are AS-Interface compatible and have the necessary de-coupling coils.
5.3.4
The PROFIBUS Interface
The PROFIBUS transmission cable is connected to the gateway by means of tension
spring terminals within the gateway. The cover of the gateway must be removed to
make the connection. The connection is made as follows:
1. Open the PG-gland and push the individual component over the PROFIBUS cable
in the following order: the nut, the gasket and the washer.
2. Insulate the cable ends.
3. Feed the insulated cable through the opened PG-gland.
4. Connect the individual leads (see page 15).
