3. Using the PC for online parametrization of the KFD2-UT-Ex1
Below you will find a description of the steps you need to take, to set up the unit`s
parameters. The individual steps follow on from each other, and should be carried
out in the sequence given.
3.1 The Man-Machine-Interface (MMI)
The Man-Machine-Interface is also referred to as the "MMI" in this document.
You can start the MMI by changing to the program directory that you defined as
the installation directory, and running the UTEMP.EXE program. You see the
following screen:
IMPORTANT NOTE! When you run this program, you must do so from the pro-
gram directory, as the data files will be loaded from this directory, and you cannot
select it by entering a path name, when saving them!
You now access the top menu level. On the screen you can see the MMI startup
message (which appears in English even when you are using the German version
of the software). Here you can see the version number and copyright date.
On the second line of this screen you can see menu items available to you. You
can access these menu items in a number of ways:
[F10] and direction keys
Press [F10] to activate the menu, and then use the direction keys to select a
menu item. You can tell that you have activated the menu because a menu item is
highlighted in colour after you press [F10]. You can display the options for this
menu item by pressing the [
¯
] or [
¿
] keys. Alternatively, press [
¬
] or [
®
] to select
another menu item.
