1. Connection
Connect the power supply to pins 11 (+24V DC) and 12 (0V DC), or alternatively
via a Power Rail. Use cable K-ADP (RS232 interface adapter cable) to connect
the PC that you want to use for online parametrization.
The sensor does not need to be connected to the KFD2-UT-Ex1, for online
parametrization of the KFD2-UT-Ex1.
2. Installing the software
The software for the KFD2-UT-Ex1 is supplied on a 3.5" diskette. Start the
INSTALL.EXE installation program on the diskette. Then enter the following
information in the dialog screen that you will see on the PC:
• Language selection (English or German)
[1] .......... Press the "1" key on your keyboard to select English
[2] .......... Press the "2" key on your keyboard to select German
[A] ......... Press the "A" key on your keyboard to to quit installation
To select an option, press the required key on your keyboard. Then press
[¿
]
to confirm your selection.
• Disk drive selection
Select the disk drive on which you want the software to be installed. The
default disk drive is "C:", but you can select any other disk drive that is valid
on your PC.
• Installation path selection
Define the path for the installation directory. The default directory is "\KFD2UT",
but you can select any other DOS directory that is valid on your PC.
Note that the program can only be started if you are currently in this directory,
and it also contains the files in which saved installation data is stored.
• Select installation mode
You can either carry out complete installation, or custom installation in which
you change the language to be used in an existing installation setup.
