Safety Function and Safe State
Safe State
The safe state of output I and output II is the high impedance state or the fault state.
The fault state is the open circuit. The high impedance state is defined as 0-signal
in respective datasheet.
Safety Function
The safety function has 2 modes of operation:
•
normal operation (output follows input)
•
inverted operation (output inverts input)
The 1-channel devices have 2 outputs where output II may be used in safety-relevant
applications if it is configured to follow output I.
Here are the DIP switch settings for all channels used in safety-relevant applications:
