5. PREPaRatIOn
1. Allow the coffee maker to go through the boiling process twice, filled to
the maximum level with only water (see chapter „Using the coffee maker“
on page 25).
2. Wait until the coffee maker has cooled down. Then it is safe to use the
device.
6. uSInG thE COFFEE maKER
DanGER! Risk of injury through scalding!
• It is always necessary to close the lid when brewing coffee, as boiling
water may otherwise spray out!
• Never touch the metal surfaces of the coffee maker during or after the
boiling process: these are very hot.
• Fill the coffee maker only to the maximum filling level (
maX 10
), as
hot water may otherwise spray out.
• Do not bend over the coffee maker when you open the lid and the
contents are still hot. There is a danger of being scalded by escaping
steam.
• The glass pot is very hot after filling. Only touch it using the handle.
WaRnInG! Risk of material damage!
• Never put fluids other than fresh drinking water into the coffee maker!
nOtE:
the filter basket has an anti-drip valve. This ensures that no coffee
drips out of the filter and onto the hotplate when you remove the glass pot.
In order to ensure that the valve opens during the boiling process, it is im-
portant that the filter basket is inserted correctly, and that the glass pot with
its lid is entirely on the hotplate of the coffee maker. The lid on the glass pot
opens the anti-drip valve. Otherwise the filter can overflow.
1. Lift up the lid of the coffee maker.
2. Fill the water tank with water up to the desired marking (max. for
10 cups:
maX 10
).
Only place fresh, cold tap water into the water tank. Hot or carbonated
water can result in malfunctions.
3. Hold the filter basket by its handle, and lower it into the holder of the
coffee maker. Turn the filter basket until the catch fits into the recess of
the holder. Fold down the handle of the filter basket towards the outside
of the coffee maker (see „Illustration 1“ on page 24). The filter basket
is now locked.
