Heating Cable Installation

Gutters
Ice may accumulate in gutters and at the roof edge.
To maintain a continuous path for melt water to run
off, route the heating cable as shown in Figure 12
below. Additional heating cable may be needed for
the roof surface, downspouts, and valleys.

• Use one run of heating cable in the gutter.
• No attachment to gutter is normally required. If
attachment is desired, use a roof clip such as a
Raychem GMK-RC clip.
• Continue heating cable down the inside of the
downspout. See "Downspouts" on page 27, for
more information.
