4.4.2 Setting MS-Windows
Hyper Terminal
1.
Open Hyper Terminal program in Windows “Programs - Accessories -
Communication” folder.

If you are setting up first time then click on File – Open New Connection. Supply a
new “New Connection” name. Enter any suitable name, let say “PT2008 Monitor” and
then click OK.

On “Connect Using” option select the appropriate serial communication port. That
would be Direct Communication to COM1, COM2, or COM3. Be sure to select the
correct COM Port number on your computer. Click OK when done.
4.
Now set communication port settings as follows:
Bits Per Second:
9600
Data Bits:
8
Parity:
None
Stop Bit
One (1)
Flow Control
None
5.
Save the current settings by selecting menu option “File – Save As”. Click OK to save
the setup. For next time simply click on the “PT2008 Monitor” to recall the settings.
