940 WS (Rev04_100119)
GB - 1
1. Description
The wind sensor 940 WS with the evaluation unit 940 WS-AE is principally used
to protect motor-driven roller shutters, Venetian blinds, skylights etc. in conjunction
with the PHC system. The evaluation unit requires an operating voltage of 24V DC.
The wind sensor (anemometer) is activated by wind. Dabei wird ein pulsierender
Konstantstrom erzeugt und über den Eingang S2 der Auswerteeinheit aufgenom-
men. The frequency of the pulsing current is a measurement of the prevailing wind
strength. Wird der eingestellte Schwellwert (Windstärke) überschritten erfolgt nach
ca. 10s der Einschaltvorgang. Das Ausschalten erfolgt 10 min nach Unterschreiten
der nächst kleineren Windstärke.
2. Connection to the PHC 940/24 EM input module
3. Installation
The installation of the evaluation unit 940 WS-AE in the distributor is performed by
snapping onto the top hat rail according to DIN EN 50022. Immediately after turning
on the power supply a short flashing code lights on the error LED, signalling the
initialisation phase. Installation may only be carried out by an authorised specialist.
Folgendes ist zu beachten:
• Installation location of the wind sensor 940 RS.
• Consideration of wind traps e.g. on buildings.
• Correct estimation of the wind resistance of the exterior unit.
• Reaction time / free movement of the motors and the exterior unit.
• Clean installation.
4. Errors
The current status of the device is displayed on two light diodes in the front of the
evaluation unit. If the „error“ LED is flashing, the monitoring function is still guaran-
teed, but the cause should be established.
If an error arises which means that correct monitoring can no longer be guaranteed,
the „error“ LED lights continuously and in addition the output contact as well as the
„on“ LED are switched on.
The error display resets itself approx. 10s after the error has been cleared or can
be reset by briefly removing the 24V DC. The desired wind swell values are entered
through an 8-part switch on the front of the device. Please note that for security re-
asons an increased wind swell value will only be accepted after briefly removing the
power supply. A lower wind swell value will be accepted immediately.

7. Warranty
These operating instructions are an integral part of both the appliance and the
terms of warranty. They must be furnished to the user. The technical design of
the appliance is subject to change without prior notification.
PEHA
products are
manufactured using state of the art technologies in compliance with prevailing
national and international regulations, and are quality tested. If the product should,
however, reveal any defects,
PEHA
agrees to correct these defects without affecting
the rights of the end user to assert claims against the vendor arising from the
purchasing contract, as follows:
If the complaint is justified and properly filed,
PEHA
can choose to either correct
the defect or supply a functioning product. Claims above and beyond this, or
compensation for follow-on damages are excluded. The appliance is deemed to be
justifiably defective when it is supplied to the end user in an unusable or severely
impaired state as a result of a design, manufacturing or material error. The warranty
does not apply to natural wear and tear, improper use, incorrect connection,
interference with the appliance or external impacts. The warranty period runs for
24 months from the purchase of the appliance by the end user from a vendor, and
expires at the latest 36 months after manufacture of the appliance. The settlement of
warranty claims is subject to German law.
