This is explained as follows - character 2 is start of message, Character 6 denotes the message has 6
characters in total, Character 32 is instruction 32 (status request) character 64 is the checksum (32 plus
32 anded), Character 3 is end of message.
The unit would then reply with a STATUS REPLY message.

This message tells the host computer the status of the unit.
