A
Ad-hoc network:
an ad-hoc network
allows wireless devices to directly
communicate with each other. Wireless devices within range of each other can
discover and communicate directly without involving central access points.

Broadcast channel:
is the radio channel used by the WLAN to broadcast the
data.
C
Client:
A system (computer or program) in a network or on the Internet that
requests files or services. The system (computer or program) that provides the
files or services is called a server. The client can request a data transfer or a print
job from the server.
D
Data rate:
The data rate is also known as the bit rate. The bit rate measures how
fast bits of data can be transferred over a medium in a given period of time. This
rate is listed in bits per second (bps).
DHCP:
Abbreviation for "Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol". Windows-
Server software that assigns an IP address to each computer in a network (see
also "IP Address")
E
Encryption:
is the process of transforming information using an algorithm
(called cipher) to make it unreadable to anyone except those possessing special
knowledge, usually referred to as a key.
