the desired operational mode and press ENTER.
RMS:
Enters DVM RMS mode.
Peak:
Enters DVM PEAK mode.
True:
Enters TRUE OUTPUT mode.
Setting the INPUT Mode (IN menu)
From the main menu, using the arrow buttons to navigate,
place the cursor on IN and press ENTER. The following menu
should appear:
Using the arrow buttons to navigate, place the cursor on the
desired input mode and press ENTER.
ICP:
Enters the ICP® menu. See section 4.7.
Voltage: Enters the voltage mode. This mode permits an input
from a source other than a sensor (i.e. Laboratory
Charge Amplifier, etc)
Setting the ICP® current (ICP menu)
From the IN menu, use the arrow buttons to navigate, place
the cursor on ICP and press ENTER. The following menu
should appear:
Using the arrow buttons to navigate, place the cursor on the
desired ICP® current and press ENTER.
For 90% of the applications, 4mA will suffice. More current is
required when cable lengths of 1000 feet or greater are used,
or for high frequency signals (greater than 1OkHz at full
voltage swing).
The current is only supplied to the input BNC. ICP® current
cannot be turned on if the BACKPLANE is selected as the input
source, or if the unit is DC coupled.
Note:
In ICP® mode, 'off' (zero current) can be selected which
will put the unit in voltage mode.
Setting the Gain (GAIN menu)
From the main menu, using the arrow buttons to navigate,
place the cursor on GAIN and press ENTER. The following
menu should appear:
Using the arrow buttons to navigate, place the cursor on the
desired gain and press ENTER.
Gain selection has virtually no effect when in BIAS mode and
TRUE OUTPUT mode.
Selecting Options (OPTN menu)
From the main menu, using the arrow buttons to navigate,
place the cursor on OPTN and press ENTER. The following
menu should appear:
Using the arrow buttons to navigate, place the cursor on the
desired option and press ENTER.
Source: Allows selection of input source. See section 4.10.
LCD:
Allows selection of backlighting brightness.
See section 4.11.
Setting the Input Source (Source menu)
From the OPTN menu, use the arrow buttons to navigate,
place the cursor on Source and press ENTER. The following
menu should appear:
Using the arrow buttons to navigate, place the cursor on the
desired input source and press ENTER.
BNC:
Selects the Input BNC located on the front panel as
the input source.
Backplane: Selects the back plane within the chassis as the
input source. This option is used in conjunction with
PCB Model 443 series dual mode amplifier. PCB
Model 443 must be configured to have its output
routed to the back plane.
Note:
This option is not available while operating in /GP®
mode.
