Operation
Once the energiser is connected to the line power supply or the battery it will begin to operate
automatically. The pulse light flashes with every pulse

Battery selection and management
This section refers exclusively to rechargeable, leadacid batteries, for example car, tractor,
truck, marine or specialist deepcycle batteries. The size of battery you select will depend on
the model of energiser you have.
Battery selection
As a guide, the recommended battery size in amp hour (Ah) required for each energiser
model is shown below. This table is based on a 8 day operating period between battery
charging. Although operating time can exceed 8 days, this is likely to cause battery damage
and will necessitate frequent replacement of the battery. For best system reliability and long
term battery life, the preferred battery and charging regime is to use a deepcycle, leadacid
battery and to recharge it when it has discharged to about halfway.

Warning! A rechargeable 12 V leadacid battery must be used.
Battery management
Warning! Batteries contain harmful chemicals and when used incorrectly, may cause injury.
Observe the guidelines for battery care, maintenance and safety in this manual and in the
documentation supplied with your battery.
Battery preservation
In order to extend the operating period between battery charges, the energizer will begin to operate
at a slow speed and half output energy when the battery capacity drops below approximately 40%.
In order to prevent deep discharge and thus irreversible damage to the battery, the energizer will
stop producing output pulses when the battery capacity drops below approximately 20%.
