2.0 Connecting to the ForeFront chassis
With only a single Ethernet connection to the ForeFront chassis, you can manage all the cards in the chassis. After
connecting, you may verify or change the configuration to function in your application.
If your ForeFront router bundle is a Model 6423 Series, go to section
2.1 “Connecting to the 6081RC
(Model 6423 Series)”

If your ForeFront router bundle is a Model 6443/1S Series, go to section
2.2 “Connecting to the 6511RC
(Model 6443/1S Series)”
on page 4.
2.1 Connecting to the 6081RC (Model 6423 Series)

Configure your PC as follows:
— 192.168.201.1/24
— Enter a route to the 192.168.200.0/24 subnet
The default IP address of the 6081RC, (bottom) slot #4, is 192.168.201.4/24.
The interconnecting cables shall be acceptable for external use and shall be rated for
the proper application with respect to voltage, current, anticipated temperature, flam-
mability, and mechanical serviceability.
