Hazardous voltage. Can shock, burn, or
cause death.
Disconnect power to pump before servicing.
NOTICE:
Discharge all water pressure in the system before
opening the pump.
NOTICE:
Pump is serviceable without disturbing installation
piping. Pump body (Key 15) may be left in place.
1. Disconnect pressure switch hose (Key 3) from hose fitting
(Key 2) on pump body.
2. Remove bolts holding pump base (not shown) to
foundation or tank.
3. Remove hex nuts (Key 4) and separate assembly (Key 1
through 13) from pump body (Key 15) as follows: Insert
large blade screwdriver on both sides between motor
flange and pump body. Pry straight back until O-Ring (Key
8) clears pump body, assembly will then pull out easily.
Keep pump base handy for reassembly.
4. Remove O-Ring (Key 14) from venturi inside pump body.
5. Remove screws (Key 13) and lift diffuser (Key 12) from
assembly. Remove rubber pad (Key 11) from diffuser.
6. Loosen machine screws (Key 1A) and remove motor
canopy (Key 1B).
Capacitor voltage may be hazardous.
(Sin-
gle voltage motors do not have capacitors.) To discharge
capacitor, hold insulated handle screwdriver

HANDLE
and short capacitor terminals together. Do not touch
metal screwdriver blade or capacitor terminals.
7. Unscrew capacitor clamp and remove capacitor. Do not
disconnect capacitor wires.
8. Slide 7/16” open end wrench in behind spring loaded
switch on motor end of shaft; hold motor shaft with
wrench on shaft flats and unscrew impeller (Key 10) by
turning counterclockwise as viewed from impeller eye.
9. Remove existing mechanical seal (Key 9) as described
by instructions included with new seal, except, tap
ceramic seat out from farside of seal plate after
completing Step 11.
NOTICE:
Do not remove or deform heat sink (Key 7).
10. Remove O-Ring (Key 8) from seal plate.
11. Remove seal plate (Key 6) from motor.
12. Remove water slinger (Key 5) from motor shaft.
Reassembly
13. Install new water slinger (Key 5) on motor shaft, near
motor face and away from seal plate (Key 6).
14. Install seal plate (Key 6) on motor (key 1) with the two
tabs on back of seal plate facing down. Seal plate may
have raised letters indicating “Top” to aid in positioning,
(See drawing).
15. Reverse Steps 6 through 10.
NOTICE:
Install mechanical seal (Key 9) as described by
instructions included with new seal.
16. Install rubber pad (Key 11) on diffuser top where shown
above, then install diffuser (Key 12) on seal plate.
NOTICE:
For proper position, line up slots on diffuser with
raised tabs on front of seal plate, with 1/2” hole in diffuser
toward the bottom. Tighten screws (Key 13) until snug.
Do not overtighten.
17. To complete assembly, reverse instructions 1 through 4.
NOTICE:
To ease installation of assembly into pump
body lightly soap outside edge of Venturi O-Ring (Key 14)
