General safety advice for electrical power tools / Before use
use of the product and understand the associa-
ted risks. Do not allow children to play with the
product. Cleaning and user maintenance should
not be performed by children without supervision.
The charger is only suitable for in-

the mains cable or plug is damaged. A dam-
aged mains cable poses a danger to life due
to electric shock.
Safety notices specific to
battery powered ratchets
Hold the tool by the insulated handles when
performing work where there is a risk of the tool
hitting hidden electrical wires. Contact with a
live wire may also charge metal parts and re-
sult in electric shock.
Secure the workpiece. A workpiece held in a
clamp or vice is kept more securely in place
than one held by your hand.
Be sure you have a firm grip on the power tool.
When tightening or loosening screws there can
be a short period of high reactive forces.
If the inserted tool jams, immediately switch off
the power tool immediately. Be prepared for high
reaction torques as they may cause kickback.
Remove the battery pack when working on the
tool. This will prevent the power tool from start-
ing accidentally.
CAUTION - LEADS! DANGER!
Verify you
will not strike electric-, gas- or water lines whilst
using the power tool.
Original accessories / tools
Only use accessories and attachments specified
in the operating instructions. Using tools or ac-
cessories other than those recommended in the
operating instructions could result in injury.
Before use
Removing / charging / inserting
the battery pack
Note:
the battery pack is delivered partly charged.
Charge the battery in the charger
7
for at least one
house prior to first use. This will ensure the battery
is fully charged. Li-Ion batteries may be charged at
any time without reducing their life. Interrupting the
charging process does not damage the rechargea-
ble battery.
CAUTION!
Always disconnect the mains plug
before removing or installing the battery pack
4
into or from the charger
7
.
Never charge the battery pack
4
in ambient
temperatures below 10 °C or above 40 °C.
Push the release button
3
to remove the bat-
tery pack
4
and remove the battery pack
4
from the unit.
Insert the battery pack
4
into the rapid
charger
7
.
Insert the mains plug into the socket. The status
LED
9
will light up red.
The green charge LED
8
indicates charging
is completed and the battery pack
4
is ready
to use.
Slide the battery pack
4
into the tool.
Never recharge a battery pack
4
immediately
after rapid charging. This poses the risk of over-
charging the battery pack, reducing the life of
the charger
7
and battery.
Switch off the rapid charger
7
for at least 15
minutes between charging cycles. Disconnect
the mains plug from the mains socket to do so.
Checking the battery charge
When the tool is on, the battery level indicator
2
shows the status or the remaining charge as follows:
RED / ORANGE / GREEN = maximum
charge / power
RED / ORANGE = medium charge / power
RED = low charge – recharge battery
