7. Residual risks
The electric tool is state-of-the-art and has been
built according to the recognised technical safety
regulations. However, individual residual risks can
arise during operation.
• Only use selected timbers without faults such as: Knots,
transverse cracks, surface cracks. Defective wood is prone to
splintering and becomes a risk when working.
• Timbers that are not carefully glued can explode due to the
centrifugal force during machining.
• Before clamping, cut the raw workpiece into a square shape,
centre it and ensure that it is securely clamped. Imbalance in
the workpiece leads to the danger of injury.
• Danger of injury due to unsafe tool guidance if the tool sup-
port is not positioned precisely and the wood-turning tool is
blunt. A prerequisite for correct wood-turning is a flawless,
sharpened wood-turning tool.
• Danger to health due to the rotating workpiece if hair is long
and clothing loose. Wear personal protective equipment
such as a hair net and close-fitting clothing.
• Risk to health from wood dust or wood chippings. Wear per-
sonal protective equipment such as protective goggles and
dust masks.
• Health hazard due to electrical power, with the use of im-
proper electrical connection cables.
• Furthermore, despite all precautions having been met, some
non-obvious residual risks may still remain.
• Residual risks can be minimised if the “Safety instructions”
and the “Proper use” are observed along with the whole of
the operating instructions.
• Before performing setting or maintenance work, switch the
device off and unplug the mains plug.

Excessive noise can result in a loss of hearing. Total vibration
emission values (vector sum of three directions) determined per
EN 62841-1.
• The total vibration emission values specified and the device
emissions values specified have been measured in accord-
ance with a standardised test procedure and can be used for
comparison of one electric tool with another.
• The total vibration emission values specified and the device
emissions values specified can also be used for an initial es-
timation of the load.
• A warning:
• The vibration values and noise emission values can vary from
the specified values during the actual use of the electric tool,
depending on the type and the manner in which the electric
tool is used, and in particular the type of workpiece being
processed.
• It is necessary to determine the safety measures for the pro-
tection of the operator based on an assessment of the vibra-
tion load during the actual conditions of use (In doing so, all
parts of the operating cycle must be taken into account such
as times in which the electric tool is switched off or times in
which it is switched on, but is not running under a load).
9. Before commissioning
• Open the packaging and carefully remove the device.
• Remove the packaging material, as well as the packaging
and transport safety devices (if present).
• Check whether the scope of delivery is complete.
• Check the device and accessory parts for transport damage.
• If possible, keep the packaging until the expiry of the war-
ranty period.
ATTENTION
The device and the packaging are not children‘s
toys! Do not let children play with plastic bags,
films or small parts! There is a danger of choking
or suffocating!
• The machine must be securely installed, i.e. bolted down on
a workbench, machine stand or similar.
• Prior to commissioning, all covers and safety devices must be
mounted correctly.
• In case of previously machined wood, be aware of any for-
eign bodies, such as nails or screws, etc.
• Before connecting the machine, make certain that the data
on the type plate matches with the mains power data.
• Only connect the machine to a correctly installed protective
contact socket, with fuse protection of at least 16 A.

Warning! Danger of injury!
Prepare the workplace where you want to set up the electric
tool. Ensure there is sufficient space to guarantee safe and trou-
ble-free operation. The electric tool is designed for working in
enclosed rooms and must be set up on a level and firm surface.
