TROUBLESHOOTING
ALARMS
Subcool-O-Matic boards with production dates after 4-16-07 include
alarms and fail safe features. Failed mis-wired sensors will trigger an
alarm. When triggered, an alarm code will be displayed on the 2 digit
onboard display and on the remote panel display, when used. Each alarm
indicates that the referenced sensor is mis-wired, disconnected or faulty.
The alarm will persist until the problem is corrected.
Since the liquid and suction temperature sensors are identical, no alarm
will be triggered if the sensors are placed in the incorrect location (i.e.
liquid sensor on the suction line) refer to Figure 4, however, superheat
readings and control will be inaccurate.
Failed temperature sensors will generally read extremely low resistance
or infinite resisitance when tested with an ohmmeter. Readings should be
taken with the sensor disconnected from the board.
Pressure transducers are tested while connected to the board and powered.
Voltage between 1+ and 1- should be 5.0 volts DC. Voltage between 1-
and 1S will be between 0.5 and 4.5 volts DC.
Pressure transducers must be installed tight enough to depress the valve
stem in the fitting. Failure to do so will result in erroneous pressure read-
ings and possibly leaks.
FAILSAFE
If the superheat falls below 2 degrees, the valve will shut within 80 seconds.
