Operation
Preparation for Operation
• Check items before power-on. When installation and wiring are completed, be sure to check the
following points before power on.
Wiring:
Step 1
The power supply and the output terminals are properly connected.
Step 2
Check the grounding.
Step 3
Detector and converter are paired together properly.
Supply voltage matches the specification
Installation of the detector:
Step 1
The inlet and outlet cables are properly connected to the in and out converter connectors
Step 2
The flow direction arrow represents the correct flow direction.
• Fill the detector with the fluid and shut off the supply valve. After all flow has stopped check for leaks.
Remove bubbles if present.
Power-on:
Step 1
Turn on the power supply to converter.
Step 2
After turning on the power supply, warm up the converter for about 15 minutes.
Operation:
Step 1
Start fluid flow and begin measurement.
Step 2
If fluid flow is not travelling in the same direction as the flow arrow the flow-rate output signal will
not
increase.
Step 3
Confirm that when flow is increased the flow rate output signal increases.
Zero Adjustment
Run the fluid to purge the bubbles from the detector body. Close valves to stop flow through the detector.
The detector must remain full of fluid. Push the ZERO ADJ switch on the panel for 2 seconds or more to
start ZERO point adjustment. Zero point adjustment requires about 10 seconds. It reverts automatically to
measuring mode after the adjustment. During ZERO adjustment, the ZERO/AGC LED lamp blinks at the
interval of 1 second. Output signal should read 0%. If flow does not read 0 +/- 1%, repeat if necessary.
Setting of this flow rate value will be the cutoff for all valves under this level.
After the proper wiring and installation of this device is completed you will be able to apply power and acquire
a flow rate signal.
