Basic Modes of Operation
The Arrows show what happens during each mode if there is
an Emergency Stop Condition or Power Failure.
Normal Conditions:
Input Power and Output power are available. Vacuum
can be ON in Air Economizing mode or be idle.
Blow-off can be On or Idle.
Emergency Operating System is OFF:
The Emergency Operating System is off because the
emergency stop valve is energized because Output
Power is present.
Emergency Stop or Power Failure:
If Vacuum is being created, the unit will continue to
create vacuum because the emergency operating
system turns ON. Air Economizing mode, will be
overridden, and maximum vacuum that the system
can obtain will be created by the vacuum generator.
If the Vacuum is IDLE, it will remain in the IDLE State.
Blow-off will be turned to the IDLE state.
Restore Power:
When the output power is restored with input and
output power, the unit will return to the output status
of the PLC/PC program.
Factory Sensor Settings
All factory settings can be changed in the field. Instructions
on Sensor Functions and Programming can be found in the
CVX installation manual or the MPS-23 Sensor Instruction
Sheet.
With 24VDC applied to the sensor power, GREEN LED 1 on
the sensor should be illuminated indicating a N.C. Sensor
and RED LED 2 should not be illuminated indicating a N.O.
Sensor.
Operation
AIR ECONOMIZING SwITCH POINT IS FACTORY SET AT
18 inHg. All SYSTEM DESIGN PARAMETERS MUST BE
ANAlYZED BEFORE CHANGING “n_1”.
Air Economizing
function will be turned off by setting “n_1” above the
maximum vacuum pressure that the system can create.
It may be necessary to adjust the part presence switch point
“P_3” to avoid false signals when vacuum is falsely created
by tubing or fitting flow restrictions in an open system.
Press the mode key one (1) time and “n_1” and “-18.0” will
alternate on the display. Bypass “n_1” by pressing the mode
key. By pass "n_2" by pressing the mode key. “P_3” and “10”
will alternate on the display. Press the arrow up key to adjust
the switch point above the vacuum level measured with the
system open. To enter and store this change, press the mode
key 2 times.
Output 2 part presence signal is in a non-passing state
above P_3.
