Cabling for 4-port RADSL, MVL, and TDM SDSL cards depends on whether you
use the front connector of an 8810 DSLAM or the rear connector of an
8810 DSLAM or 8820 GranDSLAM.
Front connectors of an 8810 DSLAM combine the tip and ring connections
from DSL port cards in 6 contiguous slots. With 4-port DSL cards, the front
connector services 6 slots for a total of 24 ports. The configuration example on
the left uses the front connector of an 8810 DSLAM with a Y-cable to two
12-port 7020 POTS splitter cards.
Rear connectors of a Hotwire 8820 GranDSLAM represent the tip and ring
connections of a single port card. With 4-port DSL cards, the rear connector
services 4 ports. The configuration example on the right uses the rear
connectors of an 8820 GranDSLAM and a connector block to combine three
4-port DSL cards to one 12-port 7020 POTS splitter card.
