Formatting the SD card
Before inserting an SD card into the control box, format the SD card using your computer and the SD formatting tool
available from the web page listed below.

If you do not format the card before using it with the control box
Information may not be logged properly, and new image files may not be able to overwrite old ones.
Viewing the system log
You can insert the SD card into a computer and view the log.
Note:

If you use a computer to modify the SD card’s files or folders
The next time you insert the SD card into the control box, the log database will be rebuilt. This can take up to one
hour. During this time, no information will be logged.

If you add data to the card using a computer, digital camera, or other device
Information may not be logged properly, and new image files may not be able to overwrite old ones.
5.8 Upgrading the system software for digital PBXs
The system software saved in the control box can be upgraded.
The system is shipped with system software for use with analogue PBXs. If a digital PBX is used, system software
for digital PBXs must be downloaded and installed to the control box.
Download new system software
1.
Download the system software update file.

2.
Copy the update file to the root path of an SD card.
Upgrade the system software
1.
Turn off the control box.
2.
Insert the SD card containing the update file into the control box.
3.
While pressing and holding the
M
FUNCTION
N
button, turn on the control box. Do not release the button yet.
4.
Wait for about 20 seconds until the control box’s
M
POWER
N
and
M
ACCESS
N
indicators flash quickly, and then
release the
M
FUNCTION
N
button.

When the update is complete, the control box’s
M
ACCESS
N
indicator lights. (This may take about 20 minutes.)

If you have configured or edited the system settings, back up the current configuration files with the following steps
before upgrading the system software.
1.
Back up the currently used configuration files (page 41).
2.
Upgrade the system software (page 57).
3.
Upload the configuration files using the Upload the data to device function (page 40) of the setup tool.
5.9 Restarting a device
You can restart the control box, distribution box, or lift controller by pressing its reset button ( ).
5.10 POWER and ACCESS indicators
You can use the POWER and ACCESS indicators to check the status of devices.
