Sound
No sound.

Activate the Windows sound function. When it is not active, the volume does

When logging on (e.g., resuming the
computer), audio is distorted.

Perform the following steps to change the audio settings to prevent audio out-
put.

Right-click the desktop and click [Personalize] - [Sounds].

Remove the check mark from [Play Windows Startup sound].
Keyboard
Only numbers can be input.
z
When the indicator is on, the keyboard is in ten-key mode. Press
NumLk
to
cancel.
Only capital letters can be input.
z
When the indicator is on, the keyboard is in Caps Lock mode.
Press
Caps Lock
to cancel.
Cannot enter special characters (ß, à,
ç, etc.) and symbols.
z
Use the character map. Click
(Start) - [All Programs] - [Accessories] - [Sys-
tem Tools] - [Character Map].
Disc Operation
The CD/DVD drive does not work nor-
mally.

Set [DVD Operation] to [Enable] in the [Security] menu of the Setup Utility

Check the disc condition (
Cannot play back TV programs
recorded on a commercial DVD
recorder.
z
Finalize the disc on the DVD recorder when the program was recorded in video
mode on DVD-R/RW or in VR mode on DVD-RW.
A blue background appears on the
screen when playing an MPEG image.

You opened the CD/DVD drive or removed the MPEG disc while it was operat-
ing. Re-insert the MPEG disc and close the CD/DVD drive.
The CD/DVD drive vibrates exces-
sively or makes noise.
z
Insert the disc correctly.

Check the disc condition (

Set [DVD Drive Speed] to [Low] in the [Main] menu of the Setup Utility

When writing to a CD using B’s Recorder, set the writing speed at [8x] or less.
