Using sound effects

The following sound effects may not be available or have no effect
depending on the type of source, or when headphones are used.

You may experience a reduction in sound quality when these sound
effects are used with some sources. If this occurs, turn the sound effects
off.

It is not possible to turn on Surround Enhancer and Sound Field Control
at the same time.
Press [-SFC].
Each time you press the button:
FLAT:
Cancel (no effect is added) (factory preset).
MOVIE:
Use this mode when playing movie software.
SPORT:
Simulates sound to make you feel like you are at a sports event.
MUSIC:
Adds surround effects to stereo sources.
HEAVY:
Adds punch to rock.
CLEAR:
Clarifies higher sounds.
SOFT:
For background music.

To check the current setting, press [-SFC].

MOVIE, SPORT and MUSIC are not available when Dolby Pro Logic
II
is on, or when playing a disc recorded with a multi-channel source.

You can adjust the volume of the surround speakers to get the best
surround effect (

When MOVIE, SPORT or MUSIC is turned on, you can enjoy audio from
your television in 5.1-channel surround sound (

page 33).
This applies to discs where the dialogue is recorded in the center
channel.
You can make the sound of the center speaker seem
like it is coming from within the television.
