Assembly and Installation
• When the speaker is wall-mounted, be sure to set “Setting a wall-mounted speaker”(
á
below) to “
WALL
” before performing the auto speaker
setup (
á
pages 26 and 27). Otherwise, the auto speaker setup cannot correctly adjust the audio to ELS surround characteristic.
Make this setting after connecting speakers and AC power supply cords. (

page 13)
• Be sure to make this setting before performing the auto speaker setup if this setting is made afterwards, the setting value of the auto
speaker setup (
á
pages 26 and 27) is initialized and ELS Surround sound cannot be properly played back.
• The settings are memorized even after the power is turned off.
Wall-mounting the front and surround speakers
Do not attempt to attach these speakers to walls using methods other than those described in this manual.
• After each task, tighten the screws securely.
•
Keep the removed parts carefully aside.

Connect the speaker cables (not included) to the terminals.
Refer to step 3 on page 10.
• If the speakers are to be wall-mounted, the stands and stand bases need not be fitted onto the speaker units.
When mounting the speakers on a wall, use speaker cables that have a thickness of 3.8 mm (5/32'') or less.
• When using speaker cables that have multiple coverings, remove the outer coverings (leave the innermost covering) so
that the cable thickness is 3.8 mm (5/32'') or less for a length of 200 mm (7-7/8'') from the connection end.

Adhere the spacers and mount the
speakers on the wall.
Remove the covers
from the back of the
speakers.
Adhere the spacers
in the four locations.
• Align the spacers with the bottom of the holes used
for wall mounting, and adhere.
Mount the speakers on the wall.
When the screws are in this position, the speaker
may drop off.
Fit the speaker securely so the screws are in this
position.
Screw (not included)
Arrange the speaker cables in such a way that they will
not touch the holes used for wall mounting.
The wall on which the speakers are to be mounted and
the screws
(not included) used for installing the
speakers must be strong enough to support a weight
of at least 30 k
g
(66 lb.).
Consult the contractor in charge of the work.

A screw which is at least 35 mm (1-13/32'') long is used when installing the speaker on a wooden post or pillar. In all
other cases, use a screw which is strong enough to support a weight of at least 30 k
g
(66 lb.).
Assembling a wall-mounted speaker system as a stand type
Return the speaker to the original condition by carrying out the opposite procedure to the above.
Assemble the speaker as a stand type. (

pages 9 to 11)
Setting a wall-mounted speaker
1 Press and hold [-MENU/–SETUP, RETURN] for
about 2 seconds to enter the SETUP.
2 Select and confirm the choice.
3 Select a speaker for setting and confirm the choice.
