The indoor unit address is the number to distinguish the indoor unit. Never duplicate the number. If the number is
duplicated, the unit will not operate properly.
•
There is an outdoor unit address for the indoor/outdoor unit and the address shows which outdoor and indoor unit
is connected with the refrigerant pipes. The indoor and outdoor units that are connected to the refrigerant pipes
are set to the same No. 1 unit address.
If a different number is set in the same refrigerant system, then the unit will not operate properly.
•
For the A address setting method, there are 3 ways to set the address as shown below: the automatic address
setting, the manual address setting and the address setting which is done using the remote controller by
selecting the address type and wiring method. (For the address setting using the remote controller, refer to the
installation instruction manuals provided with the remote controller.)
For the B address setting method, refer to the installation instruction manual provided with the indoor unit.
•
The automatic address setting is only possible with the refrigerant pipes pairing method.
Instructions for automatic address setting
It is only possible to automatically set up the indoor unit address if the wiring set up is using the refrigerant pipes
pairing method. (It is not possible if connected to the central control device.)
(Manual address setting and address setting using the remote controller is also possible if the wiring set up follows
the refrigerant pipes pairing method).
1. Set the address for the indoor and outdoor unit to “000” (= erases).
(At the time of shipment from the factory the setting is “000”)
2. Firstly, switch the power supply ON for all indoor units and then switch the power supply ON for the outdoor
units. (It is possible to perform simultaneously.)
After switching ON the outdoor unit’s power supply, the address is automatically set. (After switching ON the
power, it takes approximately 1 minute to automatically set.)
Note: If one of the indoor unit’s power supplies is not turned ON even when the outdoor unit’s power supply
has been turned ON, the address will not automatically set.
3. Once the address is automatically set even when the power supply is turned OFF, the setting is stored.
Reset the automatic setting below by performing step “4” or erase all connecting indoor unit’s indoor unit
addresses using the remote controller and then repeat the resetting procedure by beginning from the above
step “2”.
•
It is possible to automatically reset when using the 1 group remote controller.
•
It is also possible to check the address setting of the indoor unit by using the wired remote controller.
Refer to the section “Indoor unit address settings” from the installation instruction manual provided with
the wired remote controller.
•
Switching ON the power supply of the indoor unit shows a malfunction diagnostics display (F25-01).
However after it has been automatically set, the malfunction diagnostics display will disappear by
pressing the START button on the remote controller.
•
If the malfunction diagnostics display (F25-01) does not disappear, then turn ON the power supply for the
outdoor unit.
•
If the malfunction diagnostics display (F25-01) does not disappear even after turning ON the power
supply for the outdoor unit, reset the unit.
