• Turn on Cable Box and set it to your Public Broadcasting Station (PBS) channel

in your time zone.

• If you use a DSS Receiver, it must be turned off.

Press VCR on remote for VCR mode.

Plug DECK Power Cord into AC wall outlet. DECKcomes on and SELECT
LANGUAGE screen appears. When one of “1”, “2”, “3” keys is pressed, auto
channel and clock set starts.

• If screen below does not appear, check DECK - TV connection and, if TV is tuned to

channel 3, try switching it to channel 4.

• To change VCR’s output channel, please refer to “VCR’s Output Channel” on page 19.
• If wrong language is set, do “Reset All Memory Functions” (p. 9).

Plugging the AC Power Plug into an AC outlet

• Function buttons are inoperative during Initial Setup.
• To remove a cassette during Auto Set, press EJECT on

the remote or STOP/EJECT twice on the DECK.
In this case, settings must be made manually. (See p. 18.)

• Depending on conditions, Auto Clock Set may take longer

than 30 minutes. If so, press STOP to stop setup and
perform settings manually. (See p. 18.)
