Maintenance
(always first discharge the water and wait for the unit to cool down)
1. Always first remove the charcoal filter.
2. Make sure that the filter is attached to the container.
4. Add water to the full pot mark, and mix the citric acid and water well.
5. Mix well, close the lid, immediately connect the
plug, press , and set to "Cleaning".
6. Remove the power cord and the lid, and drain the
hot water until you can see the drain mark.
7. Boil a fresh pot of water as usual, to remove any
residual smell of citric acid. Then, discard the water.
3. Put citric acid in the container.
The liquid crystal display will rotate and indicate cleaning.
Cleaning completion is announced by the buzzer and by
indication.
¥ After completion of the cleaning, install the charcoal filter.
Caution:
¥
Do not clean with citric acid while the charcoal filter is installed.
(The citric acid will dissolve the coral sand to smaller particles and the water will become cloudy.)
If cleaning with citric acid has been done: Replace the charcoal filter. ( P. 32)
When incrustations have formed
Wash with citric acid (about once every 2 or 3 months).

About 50 minutes
¥ To remove any discoloration from the area above the full pot mark, rub the inside lightly with a wet sponge.
¥ If the discoloration cannot be removed by rubbing, clean the pot several times using citric acid.
The citric acid is available from an authorized dealer.
* Follow the directions for cleaning printed on the citric acid container.
* Since the citric acid used for cleaning is a food additive, it is harmless to humans.
