MAINTENANCE AND SERVICING
Always follow all safety precautions when cleaning and servicing the vacuum cleaner.

Disconnect from electrical supply before servicing or cleaning the vacuum cleaner. Failure to do so could result in
electrical shock or personal injury from vacuum cleaner suddenly starting.
A) CLEANING EXTERIOR AND ATTACHMENTS
CAUTION:
Do not use attachments if they are wet. Attachments used in dirty areas, such as under a refrigerator,
should not be used on other surfaces until they are washed. They could leave marks.
Disconnect mains plug from wall outlet.
Clean exterior using a clean, soft cloth that has been dipped in a solution of mild liquid detergent and water, then wrung dry. Wipe
dry after cleaning. DO NOT drip water on vacuum cleaner.
Wash attachments in warm soapy water, rinse and air dry. Do not clean in dishwasher.
DO NOT use tools if they are wet.

To replace dust bin, align base of dust bin with the
cleaner and rotate the dust bin into the vacuum
cleaner until the dust bin latch locks securely in place.

B) DUST BIN CLEANING
Grasp the handle on the top of the dust bin. Slide
the dust bin latch down. Lift up and out to
remove dust bin from vacuum cleaner.
Every time dust bin is removed, rotate cleaning
knob on top of dust bin until filter is clean to
maintain cleaning performance.
CAUTION: Electrical Shock And Personal Injury Hazard
Always disconnect the vacuum cleaner from mains outlet before carrying
out any service or maintenance on the vacuum cleaner.

and the debris will fall out into a trash container.

F) BELT CHANGING AND CLEANING

Disconnect from electrical supply before servicing or cleaning the vacuum cleaner. Failure to do so could result in
electrical shock or personal injury from vacuum cleaner suddenly starting.
Frequently check and remove hair, string and lint build-up in the brush area. If build-up becomes excessive, follow the steps below.
Should the belt become loose or should it break, follow the Belt Removal Instructions.
Always place paper under nozzle whenever
lower plate is removed to protect floor.
Place body in upright position and turn vacuum
cleaner over to expose lower plate.
Release lower plate by removing two (2) screws
and pressing two (2) locking tabs as shown.
Remove lower plate and remove any residue
that may exist in belt area.
Place carpet-bare floor selector in
CARPET position.
Remove lower plate as shown above.
Remove agitator by carefully lifting out.
Remove worn or broken belt.
Seat the right side of the beater bar into
the nozzle base. To seat beater bar,
place rounded portion of the beater bar
end cap into the slot in the nozzle base.
Loop the new belt on the motor shaft.
Loop the other end of the belt on to the
belt pulley on the left side of the beater
bar.
Pull the left side of the beater bar
forward and seat it into the nozzle base.
After reinstalling the agitator, press
firmly to see that each end cap is
completely inserted. Turn the beater
bar by hand to make sure that belt is
not twisted or pinched and that all
rotating parts turn freely.

Reinstall the lower plate by hooking the
front end of the lower plate into slots on
the front of nozzle housing.

Rotate the lower plate until the locking
tabs snap into place. Replace two (2)
screws.

Always unplug the vacuum cleaner before cleaning the brush area as beater bar may suddenly restart. Failure
to do so can result in personal injury.

Be careful when removing the beater bar as the belt tension is high. Failure to do so could result in personal
injury from the beater bar releasing quickly and snapping away.
NOTE: In order to keep cleaning
efficiency high and to prevent damage to
your vacuum cleaner, the beater bar must
be cleaned every time the belt is
changed.
