Character entry
The dial keys are used to enter characters and numbers. Each dial key has multiple characters assigned
to it. The characters that can be entered depend on the character entry mode (page 50).

to move the cursor left or right.

to erase the character or number highlighted by the cursor. Press and hold

a) to switch between uppercase and lowercase.
– If you do not press any dial key within 2 seconds after entering a character, the character is fixed and
the cursor moves to the next space.
– When entering another character located on the same dial key, operation will differ depending on the
display language you select.

Character entry modes
The available character entry modes are Alphabet (ABC), Numeric (0-9), Arabic/Persian (
) and
Extended (
). When in these entry modes except Numeric, you can select which character is entered
by pressing a dial key repeatedly.
