Making calls

Lift the handset and then dial the phone
number.
R To correct a digit, press M CLEAR N .

Press M N to make the call.
R To make the call using the
speakerphone, press
MZN .

When you finish talking, press M N or
place the handset on the base unit or
charger.
Note:
R To switch to the speaker, press MZN .
To switch back to the receiver, press MZN /
M N .
R In step 1, you can store the dialled phone
number to the phonebook by pressing
M SAVE N .
Adjusting the receiver or speaker
volume
Press MjN or MkN repeatedly while talking.
Note:
R If the receiver volume is set to level 5
(max.), it will be changed to level 4 in the
next call.
Making a call using the redial list
The last 10 phone numbers dialled are stored
in the redial list (24 digits max. each).

Pause (for PBX/long distance service
users)
A pause is sometimes required when making
calls using a PBX or long distance service.
When storing a calling card access number
and/or PIN in the phonebook, a pause is also
needed (page 29).
Example: If you need to dial the line access
number “0” when making outside calls with a
PBX:

Note:
R A 3 second pause is inserted each time MDN
(Pause) is pressed.
Answering calls
When a call is being received, the ringer
indicator flashes rapidly.

Lift the handset and then press M N or
MZN when the unit rings.

When you finish talking, press M N or
place the handset on the base unit or
charger.
Any key answer: You can answer the call by
pressing any dial key.
Auto talk: You can answer calls simply by
lifting the handset (page 35).
Temporary handset ringer off: You can turn
the ringer off temporarily by pressing M N .
Adjusting the ringer volume
Handset
Press MjN or MkN repeatedly to select the
desired volume.
Base unit
Press MjN or MkN repeatedly to select the
desired volume.
R To turn the ringer off, press and hold MkN
until the unit beeps.
